Turn a pile of photos into a map of where you have been.
Drop in your photos and wherewasi reads their GPS and timestamps in the browser, groups them into the places you actually stopped, names each one, and lays the trip out as a timeline beside a map. Your trips follow you between devices, and every photo is encrypted on your own machine before it is uploaded.
Encrypted before it leaves your device
Every photo and video is sealed in the browser under its own AES-256 key, and only the ciphertext is uploaded. The server streams bytes it cannot read, stores them that way, and even the name each file is filed under is a keyed hash rather than a plain one.
A passphrase we cannot go around
Turn on advanced protection and your key is re-wrapped behind a passphrase we never see, and our own copy is destroyed. From that point nobody at NᵗʰCube can open your photos, and a one-time recovery code is the only other way in.
Finds the places you actually stopped
Rather than pinning every frame, wherewasi groups photos by where and when they were taken, so a trip reads as the handful of places you spent time in.
Every stop gets a name
Only a bare coordinate leaves your machine to look up a place name. The photo it came from never does.
A timeline beside a map
The trip is laid out chronologically next to the routed line between stops, so you can read a journey in order instead of decoding a cloud of pins.
